Alexandre Herchcovitch Fall '11

The Herchcovitch show is another one I attended, but thanks to the grumpy PR team and overall pushiness, I couldnt get one decent photo for you guys.
But I loved the show nonetheless. Especially because of the neon and black mixing. It is one of my favorite color combos.
Even though the collection is barely light, it still has a lot of humor and irony.

The music was MY FAVORITE PART:
all Siouxsie Sioux, "Belladonna" and "Dazzle"

this is a lovely tailoring job, and the little lace hip detail is too cute. I really wanted to show you guy the gloves, ten bucks to whoever can tell me how they put those gloves on. The gloves are immaculate, and a little scary. This neon and black combo works great together drawing the eye in an interesting way.

This jacket cracked me up with the straightjacket reference. I love the idea, although hailing a cab will be difficult. And the gloves!

I love the darkness of this look, with the models glare and the hood and the scary gloves and all. Siouxsie Sioux perfection!

This look totally said "I will beat you to a pulp, and still be a lady." It's so cute, but deadly too. These gloves will be in my dreams for a looong time!

Derek Lam + eBay presentation 16Feb

I was so honored to attend this Derek Lam + eBay presentation today. The 16 looks shown were stunning and had amazing craftsmanship. The outfits ranged from black tie to shirtdresses. Lam told me he wanted his clothing to be something each woman could see in her closet.

This dress was my favorite, so cute with wooden wedges, no?

Mr. Lam

I loved that the show gave viewers an opinion! Here I voted on my favorite dresses in the collection. The top 5 picks will be in the final collection and for sale in May.

This is the makeup... head to http://www.makeupamour.blogspot.com/ for details on how to achieve this look!

The question of the day was: What accessory could you not leave your house without this morning?

Vivienne Tam Fall 2011 RTW

I was lucky enough (Mille Grazie to Benjamin  :) ) to attend the Vivienne Tam show on Sunday and witness these gorgeous looks. The show was so beautiful with a very Zen ambiance, models walking to the beat of a techno trance with a bird chirping in back, and a packed house.
Even in the fourth row, I was able to see the smooth movement of the garments and how they all had the same character: bold, ladylike in front/ Hun soldier in the back.  Not joking! The back had the most beautiful Chinese looking designs.I couldnt decide which side I liked more.

Some of the runway looks:

This was the opening look. Loved this jacket, and even for the heavy looking tweed, it was quite soft in reality. That collar is pretty attractive to me, too.

This dress was one that showcased what much of the dresses had on the back. This old Chinese military look was on everything.

Tam had a lot of Fall jackets that I absolutely loved, since all you really wear in Fall are dresses or jackets or them together (drackets?)  The shoulders are gorgeous without being too eccentric.

A little hippie-chic number, but look closely and you'll see the Asian influence.

Loved that this dress almost looked like lace. So elegant, but for an older audience (sorry.)

I think its the right summer dress, the details are relxed enough for the Hamptons and can go from day to night faster than you can say gimme a Mojito, please.

The last few looks were pretty black and normal with a bunch of intricate details. still very girly, but strong too.

This was my favorite dress of the collection, just becuase it was so simple but if you imagine it accessorized and with a fur throw on top, you're golden. And those shoulders!
